Did you know that the products you put onto your body, are directly absorbed into your body through your skin? Not only  are they easily absorbed through the epidermis, but they can also find a their way into our bloodstream.

I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for pretty packaging, and marketing tactics. I have to consciously remind myself to look beyond the package (the label of ingredients). More often than not, those pretty packages come filled with toxic chemicals, which may lead to Cancer, allergies and much more.  This is because in North America, these chemicals, used in personal care products have not been banned.

So what does that mean for you the consumer? I believe, that we must make a decision to buy products that are not harmful when absorbed into the body. In doing this, brands will notice a shift in demand for safer products, and will start to produce just that! With that being said, here are some of my fav non toxic products, that I use daily and love!

1. Burt’s & Bees body Wash

I love this product because just by looking into the bottle you can tell that it is natural. It has a watery consistency, and is very gentle on the skin, yet cleanses well at the same time. The bottle says 98.7 percent of the ingredients are natural. What I love is that it is free from parabens , phthalates, SLS, or petrolatum. Ingredients which are directly linked to cancer.

2.  Tom’s Fluoride free toothpaste

Honestly, I think Tom’s Mission statement  is what sold me to their products. I’ve been using this brand for over 5 years now. I’ve tried a few other brands of natural toothpaste, and non of them compare to this one. Its really the taste, the ingredients, and what the brand believes in for me.

3. Lãfes Crystal Rock Deodorant

I remember one of my friends had told me about this deodorant, and I literally disregarded what she said because I was sure it would not work for me. I felt this way because it sounded too good to be true.  When I finally got tired of spending 28$ on another natural deodorant (which I won’t name), I decided to give this 5$ deodorant a try. When I tried it, I couldn’t believe the results. No one could have told me that a deodorant with one ingredient being Potassium Alum  (Mineral Salt) would work. Mineral salt deodorants are known for naturally eliminating odour causing bacteria for 24-hours.

4. Natural DIY Hand Sanitizer

Since this whole Covid 19 pandemic started, we’ve all been forced to use hand sanitizer all the time. You enter the mall, you put it on, and in each individual store, you have to put it on. That’s a lot of alcohol absorbed into the body.  I always had a problem with these sanitizers from the stores. They’re either too slimy, too drying, or smell like crap. So, one of the reasons I purchased my Kangen water machine, is to be able to make my own hand sanitizer.

How to make:

1/3 cup of 2.5 ph water (comes right out of machine)

8-10 drops of tea tree oil

5 drops of lemon oil

add all ingredients to a spray bottle, and shake it up.

5. Natural Face & Body Toner

Also thanks to my Machine, I can produce beauty water. Which is water with a ph of 6.0 . This is the same ph as our actual skin, and hair.

How to make:

1/3 cup of 6.0 ph water

8-10 drops of lavender oil

5 drops of lemon oil

add all the ingredients to the spray bottle, and shake up!

There you have it! I hope you will try out some non toxic products, so we can force brands to make more of this. If this is done, not only are we saving ourselves, but we will in turn also save the planet ! Here’s to a healthier, better, You & WORLD !!
